PACKAGING
We utilize CRATIV packaging for all of our flower products sold in our dispensary. CRATIV accelerator packaging uses a food grade FDA approved additive that helps naturally present enzymes in landfill environments to infiltrate the molecular structure and accelerate degradation. If you can't reuse the container, they are recyclable. If you do not have access to recycling there is nothing to worry about because the packaging is biodegradable too!
Wholesale 1/8s will be packaged in Mylar bags. Biodegradable packaging coming soon for wholesale products.
CULTIVATION METHODS
Square Grouper is creating a new paradigm for Cannabis cultivation.
Our Stock plants are grown in soil to ensure they get all the nutrition and care they require for full, healthy and lush growth. The cuttings we take from these healthy "Mother" plants are put into peat based propagules until they form healthy roots. Rooted cuttings are transplanted into coco coir blocks where they are immediately put into the flowering cycle. Flowering these small cuttings allow us to utilize a modified sea of green growing style with densely packed canopies. All we produce are "tops" of the plants. Utilizing vertical gardening allows us to get the most production out of our space. This high yield system of growing reduces the amount of water, nutrients and lighting required to produce our flower. Our high yield / low input growing method makes it possible for us to produce flower for a lower cost per pound than other brands. This is how Square Grouper is able to offer high quality flower for a much lower price than other brands on the market.
LIGHTING
Our plants are cultivated under Fluence LED lighting. The use of LED lighting lowers the electrical impact on the environment. LEDs also allow us to get our lights closer to the plants without adding additional heat loads associated with HID lighting. Lower heat loads and electrical demands allow us to produce above average yields, while having a lower impact on the environment.
IRRIGATION
Plants in our system are grown in coco coir and irrigated using the Netafim Netaflex 5G controller. The combination of the coco coir substrate and the precision control of the Netaflex fertigation system allow us to dial in our nutrient feeding program to accommodate the needs of each of our strains, keeping water efficiency at maximum capacity and minimizing waste.
DRYING
Square Grouper utilizes a perpetual grow system. We harvest 5 days a week and have plants in all stages of growth at any given time. Frequent harvests allow us to keep a fully stocked inventory to accommodate the needs of Dispensary and Manufacturing partners. Our flower is harvested at peak genetic potential, with just the right balance of amber and cloudy trichomes. Fan leaves are removed and our plants are hung on racks for a duration of 21 days in our climate controlled area. This allows them to slowly dry for flavor and terpene preservation. After the 21 day drying period the plants are harvested.
HARVEST
After the drying period, the plants are hand trimmed and then sent through our Mobius Trimmer for a final touch-up. Once the flower is bucked and trimmed to satisfaction it is placed into our climate controlled curing area for an additional 21 days. We have the capacity to deliver products in any form necessary. We have dried trim for Manufacturers looking to make distillate, diamonds, shatter, caviar, etc. If you are in need of fresh frozen flower, we have that too. Let us know the quantity and we can give insight to our harvest schedule. Manufacturers are able to choose what week the finished flower is harvested, then the fan leaves are removed and the product is frozen until reception. We also have testing overages and bottom of the batch full flower that we offer for preroll input material (contact us for pricing).
CURING
Harvested flower is placed into our automated air exchange food grade barrels. These barrels complete an air exchange 4-6 times a day, removing the co2 and other gases from the curing chambers. The barrels are rotated daily to assist with the air exchange and ensure none of the flower will develop mold by keeping the surface area of the flower exposed to oxygen. After the 21 day curing cycle the flower is sent in for testing and stored in the climate controlled vault until it is packaged for sale.
